Gateway installation

The installer’s main job is to install the GridVolt gateway and connect it to the assets at the site. GridVolt can then assist the installer with commissioning remotely.

  1. Complete the site survey and prerequisites, including the GridVolt onboarding form. If you do not have the form, request it from GridVolt.
  2. Prepare the site.
  3. Install the GridVolt gateway and connect the site assets.
  4. Configure fixed IP addresses for network-connected equipment.
  5. Power on the gateway and complete remote commissioning with GridVolt.
  6. Complete the customer handover.

Use the relevant device guide for asset-specific connection instructions. See gateway hardware for an overview of the supplied gateway and its connections.

Once the gateway is installed, powered, online, and connected to the site assets, GridVolt can assist with commissioning remotely. GridVolt will check that the gateway is online, confirm that the expected assets are visible, and help verify that site data is being received correctly.

The installer must remain on site during remote commissioning to inspect connections, make any required physical changes, and confirm the equipment’s local status.
