1. Survey and prerequisites
Complete this stage before travelling to install or commission GridVolt.
Complete the onboarding form
Section titled “Complete the onboarding form”The customer or installer must complete the GridVolt onboarding form before installation. If you have not received the form, request it from GridVolt.
Confirm the approved design
Section titled “Confirm the approved design”- Site address and GridVolt site identifier
- Connection type: GridVolt edge or supported vendor cloud
- Inverter, battery, meter, and gateway manufacturers and model numbers
- Equipment firmware versions where available
- Communications interface for each device
- Fixed IP address for each device that will communicate with the gateway over the network
- Meter and current-transformer locations and orientation
- Network connection and mobile coverage
- Responsible installer, GridVolt commissioning contact, and customer contact
Access and equipment
Section titled “Access and equipment”Confirm that the installer will have:
- Safe physical access to all installation locations
- Required PPE, test equipment, and manufacturer documentation
- Network access for the GridVolt gateway
- A contact who can approve changes if the installed site differs from the design
Expected result
Section titled “Expected result”The site design, exact devices, communications plan, and responsible people are known. There are no unresolved compatibility or access questions.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”Review the survey record with the GridVolt project contact. Do not proceed with a substitute device or changed communications design until the change is approved.
