Troubleshooting
Controller is offline
Section titled “Controller is offline”- Confirm the controller is powered and its indicators match the hardware guide.
- Confirm the local network link is active.
- Confirm DNS and time synchronisation are working.
- Ask the network owner to check the approved outbound firewall requirements.
- Confirm GridVolt has not received a recent heartbeat before escalating.
A device is missing
Section titled “A device is missing”- Check that the exact model and firmware are supported.
- Confirm the device address and communications interface match the approved design.
- Inspect physical terminations while following isolation requirements.
- Check for address conflicts or another system using the same interface.
- Record the observed device and controller status before escalating.
Measurements look wrong
Section titled “Measurements look wrong”Check units, phase assignment, sign conventions, meter placement, CT direction, and the relationship between site, grid, solar, load, and battery power. Compare GridVolt with the local device display under a known operating condition.
Escalating to GridVolt
Section titled “Escalating to GridVolt”Include the site identifier, controller and device identifiers, time of failure with timezone, expected and observed result, recent configuration changes, and non-sensitive photographs or logs. Never include passwords, private keys, or certificates.
